    • This is a copy and paste from HCS. I know there are a few on Freedom that don't get on Hardcoresledder, and I know there might be some that know about this ride, but just in case...   In keeping with "tradition", the first invitational ride for 2025 will be January 25th. Silver Bay lot just up from the school along the main drag a little over half a mile past the only stop sign on the main road. The lot is on the right.   Trailhead is- GPS: N 47° 17.505' W 091° 17.925' 9 am start. Not 9:10. Be there in time to reconnect, or make acquaintances, warmed up, ready to go. If you know you are gonna be late, text or call me at 218-391-8507. Cell service can be sketchy, so let me know as soon as it looks like you are running behind. Heading northbound to Grand Marais area, lunch at The Skyport on Devil Track Lake. They have a fuel pump there. Trail pricing. If we go into Tofte, the prices are cheaper there. There are several places along the way to run in somewhere and get fuel. Please show up with a full tank, though. This is around a 190 mile ride. I had thought about holding off until February, but I've had this ride towards the end of January, too. By then, the trails usually have snow (last year doesn't count), and the State guys have groomed it a few times. This weekend is when the Beargrease sled dogs race, starting on Sunday, so the trails should be in good shape. If I get a lot of feedback about trouble finding hotel/motels for this ride, we have enough time to change the date for the week after. The Mariner (218-226-4488) is cheap, warm and clean with hot showers, IF they answer the phone... This ride is for more experienced riders. We might not be the fastest guys on the trail, but we travel at a Brisk Pace. We want everybody to be safe, and give the guy in front of you a little room. Stopping at all the signs and have current registration, just normal stuff, really. Any turns, please make sure the guy behind you sees the turn in plenty of time to not go sailing by. We move along, with a limited amount of stops. We often make it a point to go up to Carlton Peak outside of Tofte on the way up. Any conflicts, please reach out and say so, or inquire about any information. This is not a sanctioned, or officially endorsed ride by Hardcoresledder. We are riding to just have fun! These rides have been well attended in the past. There will be two other Brisk Paced rides after this one, so if you can't make this one, maybe we will see you at the next one!!
