Shit happens, words don't come across well in text, etc.
Said and done, we are past it.
I get the shit annoyed out of me every time I look on EWG's site to see who in our area gets what.
I know some farmers who know every damn subsidy and benefit they can get. If they'd spend as much time bettering their operation as they do trying to milk the taxpayer, they'd be much better at farming. One still to this day talks about how much he got to put drainage gutters on his new shed thru some water management grant. Just sickening when you hear shit like that.
Being back in the dairy game, yes, you pretty much have to accept the fact that you'll be using price supports to make the numbers pencil out in a meaningful way, but it is a small part of the operation we run.
