on warranty they're not, batteries are getting much cheaper and last a lot longer, I was shown a couple cars that had 300,000 miles on the original battery, and 200,000 mile use is no longer considered high miles. I would have bought a Model S last week, but there are too many rumors about solid state batteries coming out. I'm looking for a car to use for long commutes, and for winter use they're barely getting there, I'm thinking they'll be there next winter. As of now, around town my Porsche is more fun to drive and I've got warranty till December so I'm hanging on to it. Next year depending on solid state battery availably I'll either buy new or used.
